Accessibility statement

Accessible content is also better-performing content: captions get watched with the sound off, and clear contrast survives a phone screen in daylight.

Our commitment

We aim for this site to conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549, by Norwegian regulations on universal design of ICT, by the UK Equality Act, and used as the practical benchmark under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is treated as ongoing maintenance, not a one-off audit.

What we do on this site

  • Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and a logical heading order.
  • Keyboard operation throughout: the navigation, mega menu, forms, checklist and scorecard all work without a mouse, and Escape closes open menus.
  • Visible focus states and labelled form fields with error messages tied to the field rather than colour alone.
  • Text and interface contrast checked against AA thresholds on the dark theme, with information never conveyed by colour alone.
  • Meaningful alt text on informative images and decorative visuals kept out of the accessibility tree.
  • Text that resizes and reflows to 320px width without loss of content or function.
  • The downloadable audit checklist provided as tagged, selectable text rather than a scanned image, with the same content available as an interactive page.

Known limitations

  • Background motion: the ambient glow animation is decorative. We are extending prefers-reduced-motion coverage so all non-essential movement stops for users who ask for that.
  • The vetting scorecard is a dense interactive grid; it is keyboard operable, and we are continuing to improve its screen-reader announcements.
  • We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit. Current conformance is based on our own testing, so we describe this as partially conformant rather than certified.

Accessibility in the content we produce

Accessibility standards apply to campaign work too, not just to our own site. Creator briefs we write require burned-in or platform captions on spoken content, on-screen text with adequate contrast and dwell time, no rapid flashing sequences, key product information spoken as well as shown, and claims that do not rely on colour alone. Sellers benefit directly: captioned, legible video performs better in sound-off feeds.

Report a barrier

If something on this site or in content we produced is inaccessible to you, email hello@clipmerce.co with the page and what happened. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and to fix confirmed issues, or offer the information another way, within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to the supervisory body in your country — in Norway, the Norwegian Digitalisation Agency (Digdir); in the UK, the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
